Gluten free doesn’t mean it is healthy!!!
The truth about gluten free products…
So you’re cutting out Gluten, great, never liked the stuff anyway…
Tripled your food spend in one shop by filling your basket with an array of gluten free products!?
The gluten free market is worth over 245 million and is set to triple by 2020.
Education on gluten free is wide and vast and as usual all the food companies have jumped on the band wagon and produced 100s of gluten free cakes, breads, pastries, pastas etc for you to enjoy, the supermarket ‘free from’ aisles are rapidly expanding and even the big boys like dominos and pizza express are offering ‘gluten free’ versions on their menu – Brilliant right?
Wrong.
Just because it’s gluten free it doesn’t suddenly become healthy. If you’re genuinely gluten or wheat intolerant it means you can enjoy the treats that others due without bloating or being sick but if you’re not gluten free and have adopted the ‘gluten free’ diet because its trending, these products are likely to just make you fat.
Gluten is a glue that combines ingredients together so without it a lot of these products would just fall apart and be rather flavourless.
A lot of the ‘gluten free’ products will increase the sugar content to combat the tasteless flavour or add other products to stodge out recipes which are high in fat, sugar or salt.
The result?
An expanding waist line and a poor diet.
Don’t go ‘carb free’, ‘Gluten free’ or ‘Sugar Free’, just eat the way nature intended.
Try the Paleo Diet
What is the Paleo diet?
The Paleo diet is the healthiest way you can eat because it is the ONLY nutritional approach that works with your genetics to help you stay lean, strong and energetic.
Research in biology, biochemistry, Ophthalmology, Dermatology and many other disciplines indicate it is our modern diet, full of refined foods, trans fats and sugar, that is at the root of degenerative diseases such as obesity, cancer, diabetes, heart disease, Parkinson’s, Alzheimer’s, depression and infertility
The Paleo diet takes you back to basics with a range of raw foods and is easy to understand because you just pick from food groups to combine a meal.
What Can I eat?
It’s pretty simple really…Basically if its from an animal or it grows out the ground you can eat it.
